Egypt’s First Figure Skating Championships
16/10/2019LIVE with Ice Skate Egypt
15/05/2020With ice rinks closed and everyone at home, it is a perfect time to work off the ice – perfecting jump technique, improving flexibility, and building strength. Since April 11th, Ice Skate Egypt has been hosting weekly virtual off-ice classes with Coach Niccolò Macii. Niccolò is an Italian pair skater. He won silver at an ISU Challenger Series event, the 2014 Lombardia Trophy, and placed 12th at the 2016 European Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia. He has competed at three World Junior Championships, achieving his best result, 6th, at the 2016 event in Debrecen, Hungary. He is currently training in Italy with Sara Conti and together they placed 3rd at the Italian National Championships.
In this class, skaters work on flexibility, jump rotation and height, and body movement, control, and awareness. Work off the ice will be reflected on the ice with better jumps, cooler spins, and improved control. Skaters also get the chance to work on their performance and dance skills. One class, skaters were challenged to choreograph a routine and perform it in front of a judge, Coach Barbara Luani. This was a fun and effective way for our skaters to work on their performance skills and show off their dancing!
Our skaters have been improving and enjoying off-ice with Coach Niccolò. Come join the fun and see for yourself!
